In the morning we went for a walk. We walked to the Mataranka falls! They were lovely. We just put our feet in a little pool in the falls. Around this area there are lots of giant termite mounds, there was a big one on the walk. The whole walk took about 3 1/2 hours. It was getting really hot towards the end!! (the temperature has reached low thirties! We heard its rather cold down south!) Just at the end of the walk we stopped at a place where we could swim out to a pontoon in the Roper River. It was quite cold water but it was fun! We then went for a little swim at the Mataranka thermal pool. Some people told us that they had just seen a snake in the water! We didn’t actually see it, but mum got out pretty quick. We decided to go back to Bitter Springs, we really like Bitter Springs. For dinner we had roast chicken in the camp oven. It was really yummy! We sat by the fire talking to some other people from the caravan park for quite a while.

Hope there isn’t any crocodiles in the river!!
Food looks Yummy 🙂
We feel a bit homesick when we look at all your NT photos and read your blog entries. It sounds like one big lot of fun and it must be wonderful to be in warmer weather. Great swimming pix! You must all be super relaxed and Mataraka and Bitter Springs will be wonderful memories.
Wonder if you have decided to head to Darwin? We’ll keep tuned! we love logging in and seeing where you are. Max and Charlie are keeping up with your trip and there’s always lots of discussion after we’ve read your blog and Max particularly loved the photo of the Morse Code machine.
George is going well and got a good report from the dr today.
